Jonelle is one of the first ever BBC social news presenters, leading reports, livestreams and interviews for @BBCNews on platforms which include TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. She creates engaging and thought provoking news clips that are accessible to vast, diverse audiences around the world.
She also co-hosts the Reliable Sauce podcast, a weekly news programme targeted at younger audiences. She discusses her 'trend reports' about how online trends impact people in real life.
Jonelle was an output producer one of the most viewed live TV News sources in the world - the BBC News Channel. She would script, edit clips, made graphics and interviewed guests on the world's biggest news stories. She has also produced three orginal reports which she self-shot, produced and reported which have all appeared on the Channel. She has also educational film for BBC Bitesize.
In 2020 Jonelle began producing programmes for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service radio. WS alone has reaches a weekly audience of around 279 million people around the world. She has worked on a number of programmes including The Reith Lectures, When Katy Met Carlos, The Global Philosopher and Moneybox - where she also appeared on air. Alongside this Jonelle presented programmes, most proudly she introduced the Premiere League Inspires Challenge to encourage young footballers to give back to their community.
Whilst an undergrad, Jonelle was elected Head of News at the University of Nottingham's TV Network, leading a team and presenting and producing two weekly shows - one of which won a NASTA Award. NSTV won 'Best Broadcaster' and the team won six other awards. Alongside that she was a weekly panelist on Dwane Stewart's BBC Radio Nottingham show "Social Talk".
She also begame a finalist for BBC Nottingham's presenter search, BBC New Voices at the age of 20, the show's target audience was 25-35.
Jonelle began presenting professionally in 2017 as educational presenter for Spaghetti Maths and Elevate Education, presenting live seminars to children across both primary and secondary ages all around the UK.
She presented an film explaining UK politics with The Economist Education Foundation and hosted many events including the Studentprenur conference and the UK Youth Gala Dinner 2019 attened by HRH Princess Anne which raised over £107,000 for youth services across the UK.
Jonelle began writing features for HuffPost at the age of 16 about current affairs, this lead her to venture more into the field. The following year she was awarded NewsQuest's Most Read Young Reporter 2017 for the impact of her outstanding reports in her local area.

#IWILL AMBASSADOR
In 2019, Jonelle was selected to be an #iWill Ambassador, which is part of Step Up To Serve founded by HRH King Charles to encourage more young people to be involved in social action projects to benefit their communities. She now sits on a government advisory group with DCMS and the Back Youth Alliance to create changes in the charity, policy and education sectors.
NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN
Attended the United Nations 63rd Commission on the Status of Women in New York in March 2019 as a delegate actively representing the 33.46 million women and girls in the UK and is responsible for advocating for new methods to promote gender equality both nationally and internationally. She has created a report, which documents the events and experience as a whole which will be used by other members of the National Council of Women GB when discussing this year’s mandate.
MEMBER OF YOUTH PARLIAMENT
In 2016 Jonelle was elected from a pool of 20 candidates to represent her local town as a Member of Youth Parliament working to promote the voices of 91,000 young people. She held discussions and successfully created a mandate to improve mental health services in the local area, through discussions with local and national decision makers.
During her tenure she had a created a mental health awareness campaign to explore and educate young people and distinguish between truth and misconceptions. She made a film which was showcased at a local cinema and the process of the campaign was documented by the Evening Standard Newspaper.
After a tram crash in her local area, which took the lives of two young people - Jonelle spoke at the House of Commons urging politicans to ensure more precautions on London's public transport system.
Jonelle listened to her peers' concerns about the enviroment and has held the Mayor of London to account on his promises for the ultra low emissions zone.
PARLIAMENTARY AMBASSADOR
Jonelle was selected to be a Parliamentary Ambassador by the British Youth Council in June 2018, she championed change on the living wage, challenging the way in which Parliament deals with the issue. She underwent training on briefing, negotiation and public speaking by the BYC. She worked closely with MPs in select committees, working groups and lead discussions so that the voices of young people are heard by decision-makers.
